Explore Termessos, an ancient Pisidian city built at an altitude of 1,000 meters on the southwest side of Solymos Mountain. The site is located 30 kilometers north-west of Antalya.
In Dolu D, you will also discover various rare plant and animal species in and around the site, which are under the protection of Termessos National Park.
Hidden by numerous wild plants and surrounded by dense pine forests, the ruins have an untouched appearance, creating an atmosphere different from other ancient city sites.
Since you will be exploring the area on foot, it is very important to wear sturdy shoes. There is quite a tiring uphill hiking and climbing to access some parts of the site. Some of the popular places to see are the lower city walls, theater, temples, and a fire watchtower.
It is worth a walk to see the magnificent theater, a well-preserved site built in Greek style with a capacity of about 4,000 spectators. Perched steeply on the slope with incredible views of the surrounding mountain peaks is the most striking feature of Termessos.
You will continue to Düden Waterfalls, where mountain streams descending from the peaks reach the Mediterranean Sea in a series of magnificent waterfalls from rocky hills.
